I tried using the /I and /P options of the SENDMAIL command to send myself a message. When the message arrives, the priority is not set (there is no "X-Priority" header). When I ask Thunderbird to set the priority to "highest", it comes through with an "X-Priority header of "1 (highest)". So my email provider is capable of setting the flag. It looks as though SENDMAIL is failing to follow the /P option.
Since I cannot see a way to have Thunderbird set the "importance" level, I could not verify what it does.
Has anyone else tried using those options?
